Every asphalt install follows the same disciplined spec: tear off to the deck, replace any soft plywood, lay synthetic underlayment with ice-and-water shield in valleys and around penetrations, install new drip edge and step flashing, place starter strip on every eave and rake, then field shingles with a six-nail pattern, and finish with ridge cap over a continuous ridge vent.
